Guacamole is delicious.

A basic guacamole made with avocados, lime, and garlic can satisfy any craving. But sometimes, a new flavor is what one needs to keep life interesting! Fortunately, there are many different ways that one can make guacamole. Here are a few guacamole recipes with new twists for you to try!

Hot Guac

If you love all things spicy, then you will love this guacamole recipe. Simply add a chopped up jalapeno pepper (including the seeds) to your regular guacamole recipe, and soon everyone will be breathing fire. Or, for a less intense version, sprinkle chili powder on the guacamole instead.

Sweet Tooth

Avocado and chocolate might seem like they couldn’t be further from each other, but this contrast actually creates a really yummy dish. Add crushed dark chocolate and a dash of honey to your regular recipe. If you are a fan of mole, you will probably love this twist.

Tropical Guac

The flavors of avocado and tropical fruits complement each other well. Mango, pineapple, grapefruit and papaya chunks with a little bit of red onion are the perfect addition to any guacamole recipe. Pomegranate, a Mexican fruit, also works well… or a combination of any of these!

Gotta Have Bacon

It’s difficult to think of any animal product that tastes better than bacon. So why not throw some in your guacamole? Take it a step further and make it a BLT guacamole by adding tomatoes (but the lettuce might add an odd texture, so it’s best to skip that part).

Very Green

Guacamole doesn’t have to be chunky. Tomatillo guacamole is almost like a mixture between guac and green salsa. Place all of the ingredients, including chopped tomatillo, into a blender until the texture is smooth. This version will be slightly more tart than other guacamole recipes.

Under the Sea

If you are a fan of seafood, then why not try adding crab meat to your guacamole? Be sure to mix in the crab right before serving for the freshest flavor. To create a more southern take on it, add a bit of creole spices to the mix as well.

Try mixing and matching a few of these guacamole recipes for your next event, and then let guests vote on their favorite ones. It can also be fun to have a guacamole cook-off, where everyone brings in their own exciting guacamole recipe and then you will determine the winner. It’s a great way to learn about new guacamole recipes and test out some of the ones listed above!
